There are few novels that proclaim to "Change your life", however The Dice Man had a profound effect on me. The book appears to be about the author himself and his unusual experiences, as it follows the actions of Luke Rhinehart, a psychiatrist who has a rather dull, pointless life and decides to take drastic action to change it. He decides that putting his decisions in the luck of a roll of a dice would spice things up a little. There are some very controversial subjects dealt with and the book comes across darkly comedic and subversive, but the idea of making all your decisions based on the blind luck of a dice roll is an exciting thought.
I wouldn't say this book will change your life but it does put a slightly different perspective on it and the decisions you make.
